Chemical Peeling

Objectives

It aims to improve the texture and pigmentation of the skin without incisions.

General aspects

It usually gives good results in the reduction of fine facial wrinkles, spots and some improvement in skins with acnes.
It is indicated for lightening, improving and maintaining skin after face plastic surgery.

There are several types of chemical peels, ranging from the least to the most aggressive, and which are indicated accordingly:

Availability of the patient - if he can not get away from work during the time needed for recovery, he opts for the slower and more gradual treatment, the results of which appear in the medium to long term. Example: Weekly or biweekly peeling with 70% glycolic acid.
Appearance of the skin - if it is very stained, with many fine wrinkles or acne scars, a more aggressive treatment is advisable, in which the patient will need to remain exposed to sunlight for seven days until all the peels are removed. In this case, the results are visible more quickly.
The commonly used product is TCA (trichloracetic acid or "blue peel", "yellow peel") with concentrations between 20 to 35%.

Mechanical Abrasions

In very difficult cases, this is the indicated option, for example, when there are very deep acne scars.
It can be associated with the chemical process to improve the results. This type of peeling lost space for laser peeling.
